MT ST HELENS PANORAMA

Mt. St. Helens is an iconic mountain of the Pacific Northwest.  It is famous for “blowing its top” in May 1980 when it erupted causing the mountain to lose about 1000′ feet in elevation.  The eruption initially blew out the side to the north and flattened forests for miles.  This image was taken about 3 miles north of the mountain and looks into the crater.  This image is a composite panorama, meaning it is comprised of several smaller images “stitched together” to make up the one image.  This image is comprised of 12 images.  This technique allows the photographer to take wide angle photographs or panoramic photos with lenses that are not necessarily as wide, and produces an images that is much higher resolution than a single image with the same camera.  Resolution of the source image is 10063 x 2967.

While the print is NOT part of a limited edition, all prints come signed and numbered by the photographer (typically on the back) and come with a Certificate of Authenticity.
